About me…
In an era of nihilistic content creation, and a mainstream music industry that, like a dying star, seems to be collapsing in on itself, Emily Steinwall is seeking something more real in it all. A celestial love for humanity lies firmly at the foundation of Emily Steinwall’s artistry.
Born and raised in Toronto, Canada into a multi-generational family of musicians , Emily's love for music and art was inevitable. he has worked professionally as a saxophone player, toured as a backup singer to a pop artist, and made a living in classic rock tribute bands. Now, with her original music at the forefront, Emily has found a way to express herself through this kaleidoscope of musical experiences and find a sound that is uniquely her own, striving to channel something universal and spiritual in nature.
Emily’s debut album, “Welcome to the Garden”, was released in 2021 and received the SOCAN songwriters prize that year. 5 years later, her sophomore album releases in August 2026 and is titled "but, there's beauty in the fall from Grace" .
Where “Welcome to the Garden” had been an expression of a kind of cosmic euphoria, a chaotic and terrifying optimism, her second release shows the other side of the coin and looks at anger, disappointment, and the terrifying unknown. And yet, the tone is not one of fear, but of acceptance; the grounded ability to find the beauty in the wholeness of existence.
